fraj1 Posted January 10 #1 Share Posted January 10 We are docked here 730am - 8 pm in June and would really like to have a few hours on a beach. Anyone any experience of doing this? Advice on where and how to get there gratefully received! Also any info on spending a few hours in Porto Vecchio? Thanks!
Mar1987 Posted January 10 #2 Share Posted January 10 We went to a nice beach 10/15 mnts far from Porto Vecchio, called "Cala Rossa", that you can reach renting a scooter in town or hiring a taxi that should wait for you in order to drive you back to the port. You have some bars there. Otherwise, you can just walk around Porto Vecchio which is a small town, easy to walk through.

As i think P.V. is less visited by cruise ships than Ajaccio, If you don't get any replies which don't involve renting a scooter or moped, which not everyone wants to do, you could try googling something like "Porto Vecchio beaches by public transport" or contact the official Porto Vecchio Tourist information office" and ask. I would also ask if any beaches have a nearby taxi stance or if there are any beach shuttle buses at the time of your visit as beach resorts often run seasonal shuttle buses. Try Tripadvisor and other websites which appear when you try googling " P. V Tourist Information" or look at the P.V. Tourist information website for ideas. If you have not already found enough ideas with your earlier searches, try Tripadvisor, YouTube, guide books (can you borrow from your library?) the official PV Tourist info website and anything Rick Steves which has PV included. Doing as suggested means you get to find sights/attractions/activities which suit your personal interests.😀 Edited February 21 by edinburgher

Apologies as I had thought you were the OP coming back for more info and replied accordingly, instead you are a member with a new question, piggy backing on the earlier questions.😀 There are only a few past threads containing the words P V but there may be some useful info in a few of them.
