JAKcruiser Posted January 28 #1 Share Posted January 28 Hello. We are a couple with U. S. Passports arriving at LGW from Orlando FL via British Airlines at the South Terminal on Thursday, June 13th at 10:40am. Our next flight to Barcelona departs from LHR, not LGW, for a BA flight departing at 17:10. Does this allow us enough time to travel between the airports (via Blackberry Cars) and get through customs to catch our flight? Obviously this wasn’t a great choice on my part and I am wondering how long to expect the lines for customs will be at LHR. Thanks for your help and any tips you can provide. BTW, our cruise departs three days later.

As long as you arrive at LHR about three hours before your flight to BCN, you have enough time to check your luggage, clear security and head to the gate. Globaliser Posted January 28 #4 Share Posted January 28 If you're travelling on a through ticket, then any LHR departure time from 13:40 would be legal (although not necessarily advisable) - that is the official Minimum Connection Time for this connection. So you have a further 3½ hours on top of that, which should give you an indication of the generosity of margin that you have. You do not need to arrive at LHR three hours before your flight to Barcelona. If you are there 60 minutes before your onward flight, you will have enough time to drop your bag, clear security and get to the gate. A private inter-airport transfer is considerably more costly than necessary. National Express run a perfectly good inter-airport transfer service.
