Catalina- What to do?

Recommended Posts

Casino tour was very cool.

Golf Cart rentals was also a lot of fun.  Reserve and pay in advance of the cruise - $120 for 2-hours, cart can carry 4 people.  2-hours is plenty of time.  The Island is small.  We selected this company as it's right near the tenders, snf no issues with them providing a refund if you cancel:

We have visited Catalina as a port stop, day trip, and also a long weekend at a hotel.  The golf cart is fun just make sure you have your DL and proof of insurance.  CA DMV considers them motor vehicles so you will need both.  You can't just go anywhere you want as they are restricted to specific roads.  But still plenty of fun.  You will return it with plenty of time to walk around Avalon and grab a drink or food.  We also did the "submarine" which was interesting.

@VentureMan_2000 @ATSEAMYLIFE I saw a map on the golf cart site, but if you had to recommend some must do's what would you say, or can you basically get around anywhere?  Are there places to stop for a bit that you would highly recommend.

Lots of little pull-outs to stop and view with the golf carts.  You are pretty limited as to where you can go.  Most of the Island is private and requires a permit to access.

I highly recommend take the "Casino" tour.  It's not a Gambling casino or has anything to do with gambling... lot's of history there.

Seconded on the Casino. Frankly the golf carts were sort of a waste of time and money. Sure you can get up into the hills a little bit and get some vantage points but you can't really go anywhere you want to. If we were to do it again we would just walk around town more.

We’ve enjoyed the all- island tour through the ship, the golf carts, boat tours, and a food /walking tour.
It’s really a matter of what you feel like doing!
