salty dingo Posted February 26 #1 Share Posted February 26 After reading the 2023 CCL annual report, I noticed the section on shareholder benefits has been deleted. In the 2022 annual report, the benefit is described on page 5. It seems the Shareholder Benefit is kaput for sailings after July 31, 2024. Previously I had requested shareholder credit for my 2025 cruises and was told I needed to wait and see if the benefit was repeated for the next year. Looks like I'm out of luck! Anyone heard anything about this change?
Rare shof515 Posted February 26 #2 Share Posted February 26 could be a clerical error that they forget to include the page in the report. carnival corporation website still shows the shareholder benefits

Rare BlerkOne Posted February 26 #4 Share Posted February 26 The Board has to vote on it first. It isn't a property of the annual report.

Rare ontheweb Posted February 26 #6 Share Posted February 26 They always renew it. It is a marketing tool that costs them next to nothing. After the stock tanked post Covid, these boards were filled with posts saying they would get rid of it or at the least double the amount of stock necessary to obtain the credit. Instead the first time they voted, they extended it 2 years instead of the usual 1.

elevendaysinmay Posted February 29 #10 Share Posted February 29 They've just introduced a new process for applying for your Shareholder Benefits using 'Stockperks' a company that specialises in distibuting Benefits. It uses an app - you register your shares on the app. Then every time you book a new cruise. You put the cruise details into the app and you very quickly (less than an hour) get confirmation of your updated On Board Credit from Carnival. I used it last week. I can't think they'd introduce that and then scrap Shareholder Benefit
Gregoryfo Posted March 1 #11 Share Posted March 1 As others have mentioned wait for the shareholders meeting, which is on April 5. They will vote to continue the benefit and it will take about two weeks to show up on the website and then you can get your obc for being a shareholder. We often do one of our cruises in August before the kids head back to school and every year we need to wait to get the obc for that cruise. Rare BlerkOne Posted March 1 #12 Share Posted March 1 My memory may be faulty, but I'm thinking it is actually renewed before the meeting, so maybe anytime between owand April.

Maybe you have seen it put on the agenda before the April meeting, but the Board of Directors would have to vote on it and that happens at the annual meeting. Does it? The Board of Directors could vote prior. jwitt2 Posted March 2 #19 Share Posted March 2 After noticing that the benefit was not mentioned in the latest stockholder report, we emailed guestadmin@carnival.com and asked if it was still available. They are not paying dividends so we thought it may be scrapped. Here is the reply we received: Response By Email (03/01/2024 03:52 PM) Carnival Corporation has engaged Stockperks to implement a more automated and streamlined process for the processing of shareholder benefits. During the ongoing transition phase, shareholders may be redirected to Stockperks to engage with our updated redemption process. Yes and Stockperks won't know anything, they just verify your ownership and notify CCL. We will just need to wait and see. If/when I book another CCL cruise the $100 credit won't be the deciding factor.
salty dingo Posted March 3 Author #22 Share Posted March 3 I still have not received a response from Investor Relations about my Shareholder Benefit question. I did download the SharePerks app it seems more convenient that the previous method which involved emailing in a brokerage statement.
lostsoulcruiser Posted March 4 #23 Share Posted March 4 The benefit is available on sailings through December 31, 2024. Applications to receive this benefit should be made at least three weeks prior to cruise departure date. Fresh off the corporate website. Benefits are the same as previous, only now they refer you to this new Stockperk app. I have never used it (not cruised since its inception), however other posters have cautioned about how to enter the necessary data, including caution regarding entering your brokerage account number. Best of luck.

I have a November 2024 sailing which did receive the shareholder benefit. My Jan/Feb 2025 sailings were not approved. I'd be interested to know if anyone has had any luck with the benefit for 2025 cruises?
