Rare TravelBluebird Posted March 4 Author #101 Share Posted March 4 (edited) Dinner was great! Rudi’s has been exceptional at all 3 ships we’ve dined there. I had the tuna with kimchi sauce and watermelon, the Ciaopinno and the broiled lobster tails (which were huge!). Finished with bread pudding. Rare TravelBluebird Posted March 4 Author #102 Share Posted March 4 New show Soulbound!
Rare TravelBluebird Posted March 4 Author #103 Share Posted March 4 (edited) Really enjoyed Soulbound! Costumes, atmosphere, good spooky fun. This cast may be the most talented cast I’ve seen on a Carnival ship, and I’ve seen a whole lot of talented casts the past 3 years on the Excel class ships. It wasn’t just the above expectations singing and dancing, also the joy with which the cast performed. Edited March 4 by TravelBluebird
Rare TravelBluebird Posted March 4 Author #104 Share Posted March 4 Ended the evening with the White Night party, the casino and pizza! Whew that Kyndall Fire is like the energizer bunny! Got QUITE the workout! Fun, even taught us some new line dances. 6 of the 9 of us went to the party and danced! Casino not very good to me. Will try again tomorrow. Tried to eat my pizza on my balcony but WOW is it windy. Even more than earlier today. Came immediately back inside in defeat and had my pizza in my sitting room of the Ocean Suite. It was a perfect first sea day! Getting the hang of traveling with a large group. See you all tomorrow!
Rare TravelBluebird Posted March 4 Author #105 Share Posted March 4 At 9am my husband wakes me up and says “Military Appreciation is at 9:30!” I’m like…9:30??? I DO love to go in honor of my Dad, but I was too tired. He’s taking some of our newbies who will really enjoy it though. But I did roll over and go back to sleep (last sea day till the end of the cruise!) SO…I am sitting here with my room service coffee and a bagel and about to go sit out on my balcony to enjoy the rest of the coffee. Funny thing happened…I got my order (only took 20 minutes!) but when I went to pour the coffee, they sent up an empty coffee pot by mistake. No biggie, I called down and they brought me a full pot right up. They were super apologetic, but hey, things happen!
Rare TravelBluebird Posted March 4 Author #106 Share Posted March 4 (edited) Still windy out on the balcony, but not so bad that I can’t sit out here with the coffee. Although that last gust may make me change my mind! Need a little alone time; love my crowd of people on this ship, but sometimes you just need to recharge the energy bank a little bit with some quiet. Hogladyrider Posted March 4 #108 Share Posted March 4 @TravelBluebird...this cruise is definitely a different dynamic from your previous cruises. Some "me" time is definitely called for and required to recharge!

Cruises are like a box of chocolates—you never know what you are going to get! 😂 I’m going with the group’s flow—I get to cruise so often, only fair to go with the Group Gestalt!

TheLargeFamily Posted March 4 #113 Share Posted March 4 I'm enjoying your photos! Despite the wind, your balcony coffee photo looks incredible!!! Did you buy anything in the spa? I am getting a massage there next week and hate the hard sell, too! UGH... trying to anticipate if I need anything. Does it feel like a lot of kids? Next week is spring break, so I am sure we'll feel the kid energy bigtime!!

Not me personally, but four members of our group have had various massages and facials to have a very, very good deep tissue massage.

Rare TravelBluebird Posted March 4 Author #117 Share Posted March 4 @TheLargeFamily Sorry—meant to say middle of MARCH felt like lots of kids. You see why I don’t normally drink lots of alcohol on a cruise ship? 😂
Rare TravelBluebird Posted March 4 Author #118 Share Posted March 4 (edited) I have achieved a connected balcony with my friends next door! I was going to go upstairs and relax on the shaded part of Lido, but finally there was no wind on my balcony, and it is sunny and beautiful out here. And hot! If any of you were around for my first Excel class ship LIVE! you will remember how much this white awning used to really bother me right underneath the ocean suite balconies on a good portion of level nine I guess I’m just used to them now cause I barely see it anymore! Rare TravelBluebird Posted March 4 Author #120 Share Posted March 4 One couple from our group did the Behind The Fun tour. They really loved it! I’ve done one of those tours many years ago and think I would like to do it on an Excel class ship. You get to see behind the scenes on many aspects of the ship—the engineering room, crew areas, laundry, some restaurants, backstage at the Jubilee theater (and you get to meet some of the entertainers) etc etc. You learn a ton (they did!) It’s a small tour, only 9 people. Absolutely no photography. If you are interested when you sail you have to sign up right away on boarding at the excursions desk; it sells out fast. They also got a neat “behind the fun” baseball cap each and some yummy sweets sent up to their room.
Rare TravelBluebird Posted March 4 Author #121 Share Posted March 4 From the Behind the Fun tour, we learned that ALL shows on Jubilee are now being performed in the theaters they are meant to be performed in—Dear Future Husband and Soulbound are Jubilee shows (not Center Stage) and the Rio/Carnivale show will be tonight at Center Stage. So I wanted to clear that up since I wasn’t sure. Also learned that the choreographer for Hairspray choreographed Dear Future Husband (and it shows)! A fun fact for my theater people.

It’s sold out for my next cruise which is a couple months away. 24 minutes ago, TravelBluebird said: From the Behind the Fun tour, we learned that ALL shows on Jubilee are now being performed in the theaters they are meant to be performed in—Dear Future Husband and Soulbound are Jubilee shows (not Center Stage) and the Rio/Carnivale show will be tonight at Center Stage. Are they able to move the center stage screen now? It wouldn’t go up when I was on it and I was under the impression the screen problem was why they stopped doing shows there. But maybe not. Rare TravelBluebird Posted March 4 Author #125 Share Posted March 4 (edited) Finally won some money in the casino! No fortune but I’m up $100 for the cruise and I was WAY down. Pulled myself away from the casino and watched the Rio show rehearsal for awhile. We are now at the Alchemy. Ar. Wanted Dr Inks but it was packed at 4:30! Having the Alchemist’s Sidecar, made a bit more sour than usual cause that is how I like them. Russ had his favorite N/A cucumber Sunrise. Chewing the fat with 7 of us. Debating dinner.
