We left the casino early because it was just too damn hot. It’s nice opening our balcony door and getting cool, fresh air. I would pay extra for a balcony for that reason alone. Lets hope it's all fixed before they hit the Caribbean this year.

Wishing on a star Posted March 16 #153 Share Posted March 16 Thank you for that room service menu! I am thinking it does have a few more options than others before! I was one who had asked about that. Wonder, I do not have any experience with the suite life... But I believe that suites can order off of the MDR menus? I do not know about any other extra or unique offerings.

You also have an expanded Breakfast menu - the door hanger version - with more hot dishes.

Suites have the option to order from the MDR menu of the day, whenever the MDR is open. Otherwise, it's the same room service menu as everyone else.

Cdude Posted March 17 #159 Share Posted March 17 Dinner last night at Umai was my favorite so far. I’m not a big fan of teppanyaki, but this one was awesome. Very good crispy pork chop with a delicious bbq-like sauce for starter followed by tender filet mignon. My clothes didn’t smell after dinner either, LOL! Last night the casino was cool, so someone is listening from Princess. Having said that, the rest of the ship is still on the warm side. Unfortunately, my DW is sleeping in so I missed breakfast in the MDR which has (had) an excellent selection since it’s a sea day. Here it is…
Cdude Posted March 17 #160 Share Posted March 17 They should stop breakfast in the MDR at 10 not 9. It’s too early for a sea day when people want to catch up on sleep from early port days. Oh well! Tonight is our 3rd and last sea day so it is formal night # 2. I will post the menu from the MDR later. It only shows breakfast now in the app.

As of right now from what's being posted I agree that all the venue's seem to be scattered haphazardly throughout the ship. It's confusing but I suppose you have to experience it first hand yourself before coming to a decision. It isn't what I expected from the original sketches.

I think I counted 11 seats at each so only 88 per night based on 2 seatings. 1

Hard to find bathrooms, bars, etc. Venues just seem thrown in wherever with limited insight. the Eatery buffet was a chaotic nightmare this morning. As I posted earlier, we got up too late to make breakfast at the MDR, which closes at 9. The panini station actually has a good ham and cheese if you ask them to toast it twice. It’s a popular option often with limited left vs other options. Well, they told us that station closed because they were switching to lunch and that was at 9:30. Meanwhile every other station was still serving breakfast. In any case, by the time you run around getting food and condiments and finding a place to sit, your food is cold, soggy, gross. I have no idea how to get booze or good coffee except OceanNow or going to International Cafe outside of Eatery which is a separate queue. They serve you food in buffet but everyone touches and manhandles the condiments so… very limited sanitizer stations not just in buffet but all over ship. we have Thermal Suite pass and just got done with our third visit. Every time there were stations in the pool where the jets were not working. No sympathy from the spa staff. My folio shows drink charges that should have been covered by my Premium Package. Rather than getting in line at Guest Services I just used chat with staff function on app. They said they would take care of it but they have not yet. still no “cirque” shows in Dome. Was told next cruise for that. No compensation offered but I will be asking. we are still having a great vacation but this isn’t my favorite ship. I hope this explains my rationale for not wanting to book Sun in the future. Edited March 17 by Cdude 3

nasa1974 Posted March 17 #172 Share Posted March 17 Definitely some growing pains with this new build. Posts show some absolutely love the ship others not so much. I understand the disappointment with a large portion of the entertainment venues not completed yet. Hopefully things will get better as the inaugural year continues. Maybe they can make some minor tweaks with the Star. I remember people complaining about the new Royal class when it came out.

I also agreed with the poster that it would be nice for breakfast times to be extended but this is not just a Princess thing. In X Retreat breakfast was also over at 9 and it was variable depending on port or sea day. Pretty sure some mornings it was closed at 8:30. However as you state earlier post of menu showed breakfast was all day (what a deal) ! Can't find a bar comment ...... there is no ship I have ever sailed on where this has been a problem. Cdude Posted March 17 #175 Share Posted March 17 Here’s an example, you walk through the MDR to get to Wake View Terrace. How does that work when it’s summer and everyone is parading around in wet clothes? The corner(s) in the wake view are obstructed with the stairs wasting prime real estate and they blocked off the sides for other operational purposes. It’s bizzare. I don’t recall if it’s Wake View, but at least one other deck is accessible via old school doors that you have to manually open instead of the circa 2002 auto sliders, so if carrying drinks good luck. Another oddity. 2
