Often chops is for key members, as a for instance.
leaveitallbehind Posted March 18 #3 Share Posted March 18 (edited) You don't mention what ship. But, yes, they are open for dinner. Chops and Giovanni's are for lunch as well. Edited March 18 by leaveitallbehind

Chops is open at 12pm for lunch on sea days. Izumi Hibachi opens at 5:30pm. Izumi Sushi opens at 5:30pm. Jamie's Italian opens at 12pm - 1:30pm. Johnny Rockets opens at 11:30am. Hope this helps.

I was going to book one on a port day hoping to have a quiet lunch to find out hours have changed. I do not do UDP so I cannot say if it has been like that for a while. Some people like to maximize their UDP with lunches and dinners. Did Royal cut back lunches only to sea days to save money? I do not know.

I only did UDP once and that was in 2019, so I can't answer to the current hours you are suggesting. For the OP, I was answering just to the restaurants that in our experience had been open on boarding day for lunch, correcting as you identifying that on Mariner Jamie's was the Italian restaurant, not Giovanni's.
