Pog Posted March 24, 2006 #1 Share Posted March 24, 2006 Let me begin by telling you we had a marvelous time, of course we were cruising. The embarkation and debarkation were the best we have ever experienced. Tampa is a marvelous city and wonderful port. Maybe it was the spring breakers or the fact we have never gone on a small 4 day cruise but the cruise was VERY casual. We have never been on a cruise with people in the dining room in jeans and baseball hats. Luckily, for the first time ever, we decided to go to the early seating instead of the late. Well, when I heard from passengers in the late seating it was amazing the spring breakers were wild. I am NOT an old fogey I love excitement, dancing, casino, etc. but these people I was talking to were my age and fun loving individuals but enough was enough of the whooping and hollering at dinner. We were lucky to just have babies, which were very well behaved. There was a distinct sewer smell in pockets on the ship! It was discusting, and the ship had had many individuals sick on the previous cruises. I am not sure that is not the reason others were getting sick. When we arrived all the areas you could touch were coated in a white film of antibacterial. All the chrome, glass, brass was filmy looking. It all remained this way the entire trip. We needed to spray our hands in and out of any eating area but not the casino, try to figure that one out. You should have had to clean your hands in and out of the casino. I know it appears that I am just trashing cruising or RCI that is not true. This was our 7th trip with RCI and 12th in total, and until now RCI was our favorite. But I will have to think long and hard before I return. I still love cruising and am going again in July but not on Royal Caribbean.
