QTBabyNurse Posted April 21 #1 Share Posted April 21 We earn points on our Royal Caribbean Visa card that we can redeem for OBC. Does anyone know if that OBC can be used in the casino?
Cherful59 Posted April 21 #2 Share Posted April 21 (edited) @QTBabyNurse It just goes toward your on board account as funds for you to spend so I don’t see why not. I just tend to spend mine on gratuities, or other purchases on board. Edited April 21 by Cherful59
Bleueyes44 Posted April 21 #3 Share Posted April 21 The obc is put on your account . So yes when you go to the casino just charge to your room account till its used up. In my case it doesn't take too long. 1

I usually do it soon after I book. That way it becomes available for pre-cruise purchases.

cruiseguy1016 Posted April 22 #11 Share Posted April 22 I usually redeem mine 6-12 months out and I always get a confirmation within 2-3 days.

Wouldn't redeem that far out. What if you have to cancel? It may not be easy getting those points back

East Bay Skiers Posted April 23 #15 Share Posted April 23 I called on April 18 to redeem points to apply $500 to the balance due on a cruise, final payment end of May. Last night received invoice with new balance. I was surprised it only took four days.

Once the points are redeemed, they now become cash. If you have to cancel, they will not go back on your card as points but they WILL go back as cash. pharmdawg Posted April 24 #21 Share Posted April 24 When I go to the website to cash in the points (I'm using the points for onboard credit), I have a choice of onboard credit (individual) and onboard credit (shared). What's the difference? Is it for my cabin (individual) or another cabin that I my want to apply it to (shared)?

Your cabinmate, somebody in another cabin, anyone. You'll need their name and cabin number but I don't think you need their reservation number. I always have it just me. Technically, it's also shared with my wife because I pay her onboard account. Edited April 24 by cruiseguy1016
pharmdawg Posted April 24 #23 Share Posted April 24 So if I'm using it for my wife and I in the same cabin should I choose individual or shared (since I am sharing it with my wife)?
Rare mandyleighflies Posted April 24 #24 Share Posted April 24 We have this card also and had the same questions! Where do we redeem the points? Is it on the BOA site or the RCCL site? If we use this card as our sail and sign, do we receive additional perks?

It’s probably easier, as mentioned above, to put it all in your name. If needed, you can move OBC around on board.
