Turk1 Posted April 22 #1 Share Posted April 22 Ending our cruise in Boston. Staying over a few days. Looking for hotel ideas within walking distance of the popular historical areas. Ideas or recommendations?
mjkacmom Posted April 23 #2 Share Posted April 23 I got a lot of recommendations for this boutique hotel from BU parents, and it’s less expensive than many (like under $500 a night) https://www.newburyguesthouse.com. Great location and staff.

Its going to really depend on your budget-- as the previous poster said its not uncommon for midrange hotels in Boston to be in the $500-600 a night category with true 5 star options in the historic core more than $1000 a night. Boston is small and you pay quite a bit to be in the center of things. One of my personal favorites due to its incredible location and history is the Fairmont Copley Plaza. But again, depending on the date it can be as low as $300 a night or pushing $800 a night in the busier season.
Rare 1025cruise Posted April 23 #4 Share Posted April 23 What are your dates? October can be a very expensive month.

Most brand name full service hotels (Hilton, Marriott, Westin, etc) are going to be in the $400-500 a night. 5 star will be $600+ a night. Residence Inn, Hampton Inn, Hilton Garden Inn, etc options will be $300-400 in the downtown core. There are some deals to be had (oddly enough around July 4th where hotel prices go down a bit) but it will still be expensive if you want to stay front and center. Turk1 Posted April 24 Author #7 Share Posted April 24 Thanks to all. Got a good rate at the Hyatt Regency.
Nitemare Posted April 25 #8 Share Posted April 25 The Omni Parker House is right on the Freedom Trail and is one of the most historic hotels in the country. The Hyatt, assuming it's the one downtown, is fine, but nothing special and the neighborhood is awfully quiet at night
