xxHadleyxx Posted May 30 #2 Β Share Posted May 30 We were there in January.Β Royal dropped us in a small area in town.Β There were lots of taxi drivers happy to negotiate a tour, payable in US dollars.Β We paid 30usd for a 5ish hour tour with a very nice driver (he spoke no english, google translate is your friend).Β He also paid our entry to the Cham towers in local currency and we paid him the USD. It was definitely cheap and easy to arrange on our own

xxHadleyxx Posted May 31 #5 Β Share Posted May 31 I'll add that some very small ships might sail up the river and actually dock in Nha Trang. But most modern ships dock at Cau Da.Β Β We were on Royal Caribbeanβs Spectrum of the Seas

I hate shopping but my wife's goal seems to be buying stuff for the Grandkids. I just find a bar and it seems there's a connection between how many beers I drink and how much money she gets.

It wasn't a judgmental comment....I just really have no idea about the market because that is so very much not on my radar lol Β We went to the Long Son Pagoda, Cham Towers, the Nha Trang Church, out for fresh seafood and stopped by a lovely beach for a while. Β I will say the taxi was almost as cheap as a rickshaw, and had air conditioning and moved much faster from place to place (not much traffic in Nha Trang when we were there so it was a major difference).Β We saw more, for less money, than fellow passengers who took rickshaws. I'm sure a taxi would be happy to take your wife to the market if that's the goal.
Rare monkey@cruise Posted June 3 #8 Β Share Posted June 3 The Dam Market stores not put prices on items and require you to ask the price of each item you like. Β If you don't Β haggle, they will Β rob you blind.

roothy123 Posted June 20 #10 Β Share Posted June 20 If you're up for an adventure, I can recommend Sharmay Tran from Tours by Locals. We went to the Cham Towers, Long Son Pagoda, and a local fishing village in the area, which I couldn't really find on a map but really enjoyed.Β There were tons of colorful boats there to photograph. And we met a couple people who lived there.Β In town, Sharmay also took us for a vegetarian lunch, and a massage.Β I didn't really ask for the massage, but there were 4 of us and the other 3 people wanted it, so we all went. I think we docked at Cau Da, in the southern part of Nha Trang, near an aerial tram that went over to an amusement park.Β My photos are here:Β https://pbase.com/roothy123/nha_trang_vietnam&page=all Β It was a little confusing meeting Sharmay, as we were tendered to an area where we walked through a big parking lot (equivalent of maybe a block or possibly two) and then waited in a small area with a couple small coffee shops. We thought it would take longer to tender so told Sharmay we'd be a little late, but then the tendering went fast and we ended up waiting a bit for her, wondering what she looked like and whether we'd figure out who we were.Β There were others waiting at the tiny coffee shop, too, for other tour guides.Β But of course, it worked out fine.Β We had an excellent day.
