Cruise Critic Feature: P&O Cruises Australia Closure: What Does it Mean for Cruisers?

Recommended Posts

Fewer ships to cruise on and higher prices. Carnival is a business that wants to make 🤑. It doesn't give a damn about a cruise line that was seen as Australian.

Well that seems kind of dramatic.

Who do you think has already owned P&O Australia for many years?

Carnival

Yes, we are well aware that P&O Australia was under the Carnival umbrella, but it has/had it's own identity and history and a totally different flavour to Carnival ships.

Exactly.

Also P&O had more ports and other options.

At a glance it looks like less cruise itineraries and higher prices.

There's been no information provided by Carnival in regards to the seasonal home porting in places like Adelaide, Perth, Cairns and Auckland.
