Etta1213 Posted June 21 #1 Share Posted June 21 Am looking at first solo cruise. Insurance bought thru the cruise line would only cover my possible illness, or death of immediate family member. If my husband (age 84) became seriously ilI, i can't use my insurance to apply for reimbursement if i have to cancel. Suggestions?
JsMom2 Posted June 21 #2 Share Posted June 21 Look at Allianz insurance it will cover illness or death of you or immediate family.
Straughn Posted June 21 #3 Share Posted June 21 Allianz or TravelGuard both cover spousal/immediate family illness or death.
sailingkiwi Posted June 22 #4 Share Posted June 22 Definitely read the small print on this. Even if you have coverage for having to cancel or refund home due to the death or illness of a family member, you may not be covered if they for example are already receiving treatment for certain conditions.
DaisyGoldberg Posted August 9 #5 Share Posted August 9 NCL insurance covered my mom and her friend traveling in the same cabin when mom had to cancel a week out because my sister needed her after emergency surgery. Needed to provide documentation, but it still all went through in about a month.
