tef43 Posted June 17, 2004 #3 Share Posted June 17, 2004 DTW-SJU, not direct flights either. Usually have to change planes in Charlotte or Atlanta. Makes for a looooong day. Dance like it hurts, love like you need money, and work when somebody's watching.

crzndeb Posted June 17, 2004 #8 Share Posted June 17, 2004 A few years ago booked a cruise leaving from San Juan (from Seattle). Then I got nominated and selected to attend a work thing, which was a few days before cruise, and the honorees got flown to the Big Island of Hawaii. I left Hawaii a day early to make Seattle flight, rented a hotel room and slept for about 4 hrs, and caught plan to San Juan...I pretty much consider that flight Hawaii to San Juan (all within 24 hrs)

KellyJean Posted June 17, 2004 #12 Share Posted June 17, 2004 I think we have a winner! And the winner is...the cruiser who flew Seattle-Hawaii-Seattle-San Juan. Can I have your frequent flyer miles for that trip? Tika Posted June 18, 2004 #16 Share Posted June 18, 2004 I think our flights to Papeete, Tahiti from Newark Int. New Jersey were up there with the longest flights to meet a ship and cruise. We flew from EWK to Chicago with a two hr. layover then from Chicago to LA with another layover and from LA on Air Tahiti Nui to Papeete, Tahiti. I think it took us almost twenty hours to finally put our feet on the ground and then sleep in the beautiful, magical South Pacific. The morning after our good sleep we toured Papeete and met the Radisson Paul Guagauin for a 4:00 boarding. Would we do it again.....you bet in a heart beat!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! sea-cruise Posted June 18, 2004 #17 Share Posted June 18, 2004 Tika, So far you are the winner for having the stiffest back I thought ours was long. I don't remember which of ours was worse...Newark to Athens, or Newark to Honolulu. All I remember was having a charlie-horse, and I wasn't even visiting a rodeo. Celebrating 30th cruise soon.... FurryCruiser Posted June 18, 2004 #18 Share Posted June 18, 2004 My longest will be in July... Oakland California to Orlando, via Atlanta, on a red-eye to sail out of Port Canaveral. Of course, since my spouse is Canadian and currently still resides in Toronto, I do San Francisco to Toronto on a red-eye at least once a month as does spouse, so it doesn't bother me a great deal (and Air Canada absolutely loves us). llanning Posted June 19, 2004 #21 Share Posted June 19, 2004 Indianapolis to Beijing, China by way of New York (change planes), Alaska (refuel), Soul (change planes)and finally Beijing. The RCL representative had been waiting two days for us. Due to mechanical problems, we missed the direct flight from Detroit to Beijing (14 hours)and turned it into a 32 hour flight. It was worth it though. Sailed from near Beijing to Hong Kong.
