Worldtraveler22 Posted July 15 #1 Share Posted July 15 I have some friends sailing on I.P. in a few weeks, first timers. They are Canadians but will bring some US dollars. I see that the laundry requires money for tokens. Will the front desk willingly cash larger US dollar bills for smaller ones and coins if needed for the laundry? Does the front desk “sell” euros to guests? Thank you in advance.
MainePrincess Posted July 15 #2 Share Posted July 15 You use your medallion to purchase the tokens in the laundry room. No cash is required. 1
katisdale Posted July 15 #3 Share Posted July 15 The token machine is activated by your medallion. You do not use money for this.
Rare LACruiser88 Posted July 15 #4 Share Posted July 15 Guest Services will break large US bills for smaller bills. They do not "sell" any foreign currency.

Not sure about Princess, good to hear that allow that too. Can you get money on your shipboard account through the casino, and if so, without a fee? I forgot to bring my ATM card on a Mediterranean cruise so couldn't get Euros at the ATM when I arrived in Barcelona, so I exchanged USD for Euros onboard. 1

On my 4/24 transatlantic and 6/28 med cruise Princess had no euros. USD in the casino and casino atm. On the med cruise you could get euros but only through one atm (floor 4 atm) and only with a certain Mastercard.

LondonTowner Posted July 31 #10 Share Posted July 31 We live in London and travel to the Eurozone frequently. We hardly ever need cash anywhere these days. We have credit cards which make no foreign transaction charges. All cruise lines we have sailed on will exchange money, but will give a very bad rate.
