Car rental drop off Port Canaveral

Can anyone tell me about the car rental drop off near Port Canaveral?  We have done this near Port of Miami and the shuttle line was SOOOOO long, we found it easier to call an Uber after we dropped off the car to bring us to the port. Wondering if the same is going to be true at Port Canaveral on a Sunday AM?  There will be 8 of us, wondering how traffic is around there. Would it be easy to drop off people and luggage at the port and then just a person or 2 go drop off the car? Does that make more sense or is the line usually quick so all 8 of us could just go return the car and all take the shuttle to the port? Hope I am making sense:)

Port Canaveral on cruise turnaround days are very busy, especially during the morning rush were everyone is in a rush to get home, make an early flight, etc. The easiest way to handle this scenario is to drop off family, friends and luggage first at the terminal in Port Canaveral. Then return the rental vehicle and either wait for the free shuttle or Uber, Lyft or cab it back over to Port Canaveral.
