Rare georgiacat Posted July 21 #1 Share Posted July 21 We are looking for a lower Mississippi River cruise next May. Does American Cruise Lines ever have sales on their cruises? Their prices are a lot more than ocean cruising; yes I know that excursions are included.
chengkp75 Posted July 21 #2 Share Posted July 21 They are also much higher because they are smaller ships, and because the crew are all US.
BaumD Posted July 21 #3 Share Posted July 21 If a cruise is selling slow, they may reduce the price. Cruises during prime season tend to be more money than cruises during the shoulder seasons. Cruises on the older boats, i.e. paddlewheeler, tend to be cheaper than the newer boats. The best way to get a good price is to book your next cruise while on a cruise. If you book on board, you will get a 15% discount. Not all shore excursions are included. They have three levels, complementary, premium and signature. There is at least one complementary excursion in each port. Premiums cost between 20 and $50 and signatures can go up from there on the activity.
