Thanks.  I had seen this yesterday.  The Vista got to Port Canaveral about 22 hours ago.  It mentions they would be departing in the evening.  Just getting worried, as I am cruising on Vista next week

As the Guest Advisory says - they have a sea day today, and HMC is not too far away so they will hopefully have time to get there without impacting their itinerary too much.  The extra time in PC will (again) hopefully resolve the problem they are having.  Wishing everyone onboard now and in the near future a good cruise.

I wish someone would give us an update as to what is going on I sail on the 24th also

It would be nice.  I hope they don't change our ports.

  • 2 weeks later...

We were scheduled for Carnival Vista on September 7-15 and September 15-21, b2b cruises. We just received noticed yesterday that the September 7-15 is cancelled, due to different mechanical issues. They won't commit to September 15-21 being cancelled yet. This is a bad situation for us being that the 1st cruise is definitely cancelled but won't know about the 2nd week cruise until possibly 48 hours before the September 15 cruise and our airline won't refund our airfare. If they don't cancel the 15-21, we have to be there for the cruise or we lose 100% of what we paid for that week.

I saw elsewhere someone got a refund and booked wonder, their first royal cruise. Couldnt change vacation dates. I'd think last minute might be expensive but some moved the first cruise.

Kinda stinks you dont know about 2nd leg and cant plan. It would be aggravating if I was flying in for sure. Seems like compensation was generous for first leg...but i know still aggravating.

I would get hold of Carnival, discuss your exact situation, and see what remedy is possible. If you have a PVP, that's your first option. Otherwise I'd ask to speak to a Supervisor at 1-800. I strongly suspect that they will allow you to cancel that second cruise for a 100% FCC at a minimum, if that's your choice. I wouldn't think they'd insist that you 'cool your heels' in Florida for a week arranging for your own lodging. Alternatively, they may offer some level of financial assistance with your airfare to allow you to switch your flights down to one week later to line up with the still scheduled second cruise. Good luck. Call today.

They can only tell you (or the poster) what they know.  If they do not know….  That said, the call is worth the effort.

I am on 9-15 and I would hope that they would give us more than 48 hours! Thinking positive it is a go and they can fix it in 8 days!

This particular issue has been going on for at least two weeks.  My guess, and it is only a guess, is that they have a plan to mitigate the issue.  If that plan fails, then a dry dock will be scheduled and more severe action will follow.

Agreed! I think it can fixed as not moving it will save time too!

I actually have contacted Carnival 3 times already. They will not allow me to cancel the 2nd week cruise, without a 100% loss. Also, they will only pay for $200 pp towards our airfare (which is non-refundable and non-changeable through American). Then wait until 48 hours before the next cruise to see if the 9/15 cruise is running, if it is, we have to try to find airfare, (at our own expense again), to make it to the cruise, or lose 100% of our cruise fare. I already told them that I'd prefer to just cancel altogether, but not at 100% loss and they won't budge.

I do not think they will act until they know the course of action.  I sympathize with your situation.  I take it you do not have travel insurance?  Not casting stones, just asking.  If you did, there are more options (reason I was asking).

Here's a link to the executive customer contacts at Carnival. I'd email the first two immediately and see if one of them opens it and escalates your issue. Carnival surely needs to have a plan for B2B folks and have a vested interest in keeping y'all happy. It's ridiculous they'd string you along like that.

Thank you for the executive customer contact numbers. I contacted them early this morning and they were very prompt to handle the situation. They are going to refund me for the second b2b cruise on 9/15 also. I appreciate all of your help.
