I see so much about this Dutch treat, however I only see it being in the Dutch Cafe. Is there a place to try it on the ships without the Dutch Cafe?

That's the only place I've seen it. You can get it "to go".

It was one of the desserts on Dutch themed dinner menu on my Alaska cruise a couple of weeks ago. May have been a bit smaller than the Dutch Cafe one but was delicious.

What it means is that it's only available on Pinnacle Class ships

The one in the Dutch Café seems to have come down to normal size. It was smaller in April than it was in December. IMHO, it used to be awfully big for one person.

 

It's on the Dutch night dessert menu (which is not the same without the Dutch Hats of yore.)

We had it on our dessert menu twice on the Zuiderdam this past summer.  I've not sailed on a Pinnacle class ship (I like smaller ships).

Dutch Cafe's version is large and often dry from sitting. Noordam and Nieuw Amsterdam both had the smaller version on Dutch Night in the MDR, outstanding,  this year.

Had it on the Volendam this past June in the Lido. I love all the Dutch items available!

Had it on the Volendam last week!  Not as large as the ones I saw years ago on the NS but still a little large for one person, after a big dinner.

They have had the mini version in the dessert section in the lido for lunch on my past few cruises.

Had it on Koningsdam last week and was awesome!   Saw bigger ones in Grand dutch cafe but one in MDR was perfect.

The best place to get the Bossche Bol would be in the city of Den Bosch😀

Chou pastry shell, rich custard filling plus the chocolate coating. If fresh, these are outstanding.

The filling is white. It's not custard. It's a sweetened whip cream.
