NCL Dawn lap pool

Recommended Posts

I was looking at deck plans for Dawn. I'll be on b2b from Cape Town to Doha in January. I see on deck 11 it shows a lap pool near the thermal spa. Is this pool available for anyone, or just for Thermal spa? I swim laps for exercise 3 times a week at home. I'd love to actually be able to swim laps during the cruise. In all the cruises I've done (Diamond after this b2b)  I've never seen a lap pool on any NCL ship.

It is for exclusive use by Thermal Suite pass holders. And, a lot of time on shorter cruises, people are just standing in the water chatting.

I was afraid of that - it seemed too good to be true.

Plus, it’s not very long. You spend all,of your time turning.

It's not a lap pool, it's a thalassotherapy pool with hand holds and jets on the side. The one on the Prima is super-narrow and there was this one person who was swimming short laps in it, despite there being people at many of the jets attempting to relax. It was very silly.

The one on the Dawn isn't like that, it is a small lap pool.

The Pearl and Jewel Havens have swim-against-the-current endless lap pools for exercise swimming.

I’m curious. Are they taken up by people standing around talking, drinking, etc., or are they too deep for that?

On the Dawn, it is “advertised” as a lap pool. Luke warm, not hot. No jets. “Mineral water”.
