Boarding Pass -

Hello All

I have recently printed my boarding pass for upcoming cruise. Being in Caribbean tier I am fortunate enough to have priority boarding. Currently having a senior moment- my memory tells me that the words Priority Boarding were on the boarding pass. Current boarding pass has no such mention. Is my memory playing tricks on me by thinking those two words appeared? Not really important I know but would just like to put my mind at rest

Should have Priority Boarding bottom right of pass.

Unless P&O have changed things over the past few months, your boarding pass should indeed saying Priority Boarding. It’s important that it does, or you will struggle to get in to the terminal early, as the staff outside will only allow those with Priority Boarding on their boarding passes inside. Alternatively, if your arrival time is correct (probably somewhere between 12 and 12.30pm) then you may be OK, but from my experience the staff outside just glance at the boarding passes to see if it says Priority Boarding. P&O had an issue for many many years where the boarding times for those with priority boarding were incorrect. It could of course be that now that (I think) they have finally fixed this, the boarding time alone is sufficient.

I was under the impression that "Priority" was no longer on the boarding pass. There is a misconception that "priority" means early whereas under the current practice priority means that you go to the front of the queue at the time stated on your boarding pass.

Yes we all know it is nonsense but as has been said elsewhere "their ships, their rules".

What actually happens on the day is another matter.

Like you, my wife is Caribbean tier. We are boarding Ventura on Saturday. Her Boarding Pass (12.15pm) says "Priority Boarding" at the bottom right, to the right of the QR code, so yours should also be stating that.

I suggest you take this up with your T.A. a.s.a.p. as, from personal experience (well-documented here), some of the staff checking boarding passes outside the terminal at Southampton (they are not P&O employees) can be, and have been, totally incompetent, officious, unreasonable, obstructive, incredibly rude and bloody-minded towards cruisers!

Priority boarding for Caribbean tier is 13:00 so if you have got this or an earlier time then you are fine. Our last P&O cruise had an arrival time of 12:30 yet was stamped "Priority Boarding" We went straight to the waiting room at 12:45 then called to board just after.
