Getting best value for my Welcome Aboard drink

Hello All

 

I have read that the value of the first drink is $16 plus gratuity. What type of mixed drinks can you get for that price?  I figure ill try something different that my usual beer. Suggestions would be appreciated

Pretty much all mixed drinks fall in that price category.  Primarily the only liquors more expensive than that are the aged selections that are rarely mixed.

Add a splash of Grenadine and let the games begin!

There's a drink at Alchemy called the Deal Closer. That drink should be named the Deal Breaker.

We didnt know about the welcome drink. Got onboard with the soda package and ordered a soda at dinner. They told us that was our drink. They said they were going to reverse it but haven’t gotten our first drink yet

How does the welcome aboard drink work when sailing from NY port?  In NY Cheers doesn't start until the 2nd day.

Cheers and the Welcome Aboard drink have nothing to do with each other. They can sell you a drink the minute you get onboard. They can also comp you one.

I don't drink, so the best value Welcome Aboard Drink for me is a mocktail, which is usually a "No-jito", which is a virgin Mojito.

We don't drink either, but most of the mocktails don't appeal. Can you redeem the Welcome Aboard Drink for a fancy coffee? What about a milkshake?

At first glance this sounds horrible but I have to admit I am intrigued as to what it tastes like LOL.

My kids got the virgin frozen drinks at the lido deck for their welcome drinks.  I guess your kids can go to Java Blue (or similar location) first thing for their milkshakes.  The complimentary  drink is the first ordered drink, from my understanding.

I'm pretty sure it was a $13 drink because I had to pay for my $15 drinks the first couple nights and then I tried a $13 and the bartender said this was free.

I will stick with the Long Island which has a 1/2 ounce of the 5 clears vodka, gin, rum, triple sec, and takillya!

Do they actually use all those liquors. I’ve seen them just pour something from a bottle. Strange also that if you let it sit for a while, there is a residue on the bottom.

We did get our free drinks. Now we have 2 more free drinks from the Plat/diamond party. Carnival is getting better with their bribes.

With a competitors line you would prob be 4 free drinks a day by now for loyalty. I don't think Carnival is being to loose with the perks lol.

You are quite correct. I am diamond on Royal . That’s why I said CCL is getting better with their bribes but have a ways to go before they catch up to Royal.
