Original article was very different and if you read the comments following the article then you can see just how bad the publicity was but then it was deleted and replaced by a flattering one but they left the original comments! There were lots of social media posts and quotes from passengers who were very upset. Also many photos of the vloggers and VIPs and just what a circus the paying passengers had to endure. Link below is to one of the TikTokers who had been on since Barcelona. There are many more of her TikTok videos showing her time spent on board. https://www.tiktok.com/@beckijones4/video/7418240376395402528?q=becki jones cruise&t=1727199165625

I thought the article was replaced with a “puff” piece and I wasn’t wrong.  Thanks for the other link.

I have been following many threads here and look forward (?) to sailing her in March.

The enormous publicity push in Southampton was presumably to counteract all the negative reviews received. However, they really should not have treated full fare passengers in the way that they did. As I said before, I felt like a gatecrasher at my own party and definitely steerage class.

Hopefully they will listen to real passengers rather than the invited freeloaders and sort out their teething problems. I’m sure everything will be sorted by the time it is your cruise in March though, and I hope you have a fabulous time.

@Ombud I have a specific request if you get around to it - I would like to know if you can access the Sea View Terrace from deck 16 forward? The deck plan looks like there are stairwells on both sides, but there also seem to be closed boxes of space between 16101/16102 and the area. Thank you!

Amazing how things change. Years ago they had cabins on cards. People complained.

OMG what's the answer?

Yes, but in those days you had a key to the cabin so knowing the cabin number did nothing for you.

A pin number would help.

Sorry, but there is definitely no access to the Sea View terrace from deck 16.

The step down from deck 17 simply take you to the lounge chairs above the bridge. There is a toilet on the starboard side too down the steps.

Not sure why this link - I’ve also tried it from another thread - will only take me to a flattering article about the Sun Princess 🥴

I want the details!!

I found the original article before it was replaced with the puff piece, on the Internet Archive:

Horizon Deck at 19.20 (10 mins before 19.30) was a real breeze, they escorted lots of people in at same time and was really efficient.  We booked a mix of traditional and anytime Dining a few months ago, at that point we were not some if that was allowed, as it used to be a choice for whole cruise duration.

We also recognised that some people who favoured traditional dining seemed to like to have same table and waiters and this type of ‘best of both mix-up’ might give Princess operational difficulties.

@Esprit thanks for the tip on the outside grill on deck 9, great cheesy nachos, this may be the start of some bad learnt behaviour in between meals

First,  it is a very unfortunate situation will so many people actually 'clicking' on these ridiculous 'vloggers'.    I would never, ever, click on most of these and give them the numbers and any compensation.  Sadly, this is now the culture that we live in.   People are just so very entitled.

If this happens on my next cruise,  I will not be okay with it.

Princess set this thing up.  Princess invited it...  It was not okay, in any way, to do this while regular paying guests were trying to enjoy the cruise vacation that they paid for.

Princess has made a lot of decisions and done a lot of things lately....

If I could find a reasonable alternative, my future cruises with Princess would all be cancelled.

( not a YAGE...  I am saying this in all reason and earnesty )

I don't know what has been going on with Princess...  ALL THE WAY TO THE TOP...

But it shows NO respect for their guests...  And, it has become glaringly obvious.

I was at the PR events on Sun Princess over the weekend because I have a cruise blog but I also paid out thousands of pounds to be on the whole cruise. Some of us are enthusiasts and want to share useful information.  But there are others who will show up for the opening of an envelope and a free bar is just asking for trouble! . 😄

Green Line boarding: fast as usual. Onboard by 10:44

Rm 10222 is an extremely narrow room! If a sheet of paper is 8.5×11" then the hallway is 27.5". Yes the sofa cushions don't match, the middle cushion is different fabric.

Our sofa cushions didn’t match either!

I wonder if they are all like that?

Yes, but they also had the Cruise Card with the Cabin Number and you could use the CC to open your cabin door.

I going back to the early 199’s it was an actual key like an old motel key and you had to use the key in the keyhole. Yes I am an old guy

I don't remember being able to use a CC.

Are you sure it was on Princess?

Yes, I have over 50 Princess Cruise Cards that I have kept over the years. I complained, yes compalined onboard to Guest Services and to Security about the Cabin Number. Their answer was 'old people forget their cabin numbers so that's why we put the cabin number on the CC.'
