simplelife Posted September 30 #2 Share Posted September 30 Most of our Caribbean cruises have been during Hurricane Season. We have never encountered problems due to tropical activity, though the future remains to be seen.
DramaQueen22 Posted October 1 #3 Share Posted October 1 Absolutely! We've done hurricane season trips multiple times. While my sailings have never been affected, I trust that the cruise line will keep me safe and out of the storm. My itinerary or ports might change, but hey, I'm still on a cruise! We do always purchase travel insurance to cover any unforeseen things if there's an issue
Snareconjurer Posted October 2 #4 Share Posted October 2 Agreed, always a good idea to have travel insurance just in case.
Rare wolft927 Posted Monday at 05:55 PM #5 Share Posted Monday at 05:55 PM We have cruise many times during hurricane season mainly because there are alot less children as well as can get great prices. With that being said, we have had one cruise cancelled becasue of a hurricane so we no the risk.
shipgeeks Posted Monday at 10:52 PM #6 Share Posted Monday at 10:52 PM Our much-anticipated Canada/New England cruise last month was changed to Bahamas after we boarded (with no warm-weather clothing). Last year it was changed, as well, with one day's notice. So for us, we went from our favorite itinerary to our least-favorite....however, it was still a wonderful cruise. I wouldn't have minded some rough seas, or a missed port, but I do put my trust in the cruise line's decision.
Rare Stem to Stern Posted Tuesday at 02:36 AM #7 Share Posted Tuesday at 02:36 AM I read the article posted by OP. Thank you for sharing. Weather-wise we lucked out on our cruise last month on Celebrity Beyond. It was our third trip beyond (pun intended) Hurricane Alley to the ABC islands. We’ve always done this itinerary in either September or October and have had zero issues. Another popular ship that was full of fun, friendly adult-aged passengers. It was hot, hot, hot. But that doesn’t bother us. As we prepare for Hurricane Milton’s upcoming arrival, we have fond memories from two years ago of another October cruise. We managed to move our flight up a day and evacuated Florida in the midst of Hurricane Ian to Italy giving us a fantastic, impromptu fifth night in Venice prior to our Greek Isles cruise. We experienced more fantastic, hurricane-free late-summer weather.
