Just received an email that I can't book restaurant reservations for a couple of days. Hopefully this helps with the process, hearing good things about app updates in other threads.

Yes-this-hoping things will be better soon.

Glad to see you post it.  There are quite a few folks who either didn't get it or read it.  Any of those who happened to use a TA should know we cannot access the system online for you as usual.

Honestly, though, from the way the changes are described, I think it will be much better very soon.

Scrap the entire archaic reservation system and start open dining. This will work with 6 restaurants plus The Galley and Pizza. Take 2500 guests and divide by 7 = less than 400 guests within a 4 hour period is less than 100 guests per hour. TexasRoadHouse does 1000 covers a night seating approximately 300 capacity. Why VV wants to freak their guests out over dining reservations is ridiculous. Open seating will work.

It won’t work because a certain crowd don’t want to rotate through all the restaurants on offer and will just go for Italian every night at 7pm leading to a massive queue. They need people to spread out across times and restaurants.

Extremely doubtful, BTW, I was a restaurant owner for 40 years. In no circumstance would I want Italian every night. People eat from 5:30-10pm spread  somewhat evenly. The restaurants could offer beepers like many in the U.S. do.

They do already have the function to put people on a wait list and contact them on the app. But often either there aren’t any no-shows so people don’t get contacted or just don’t get contacted anyway.

There are definitely some people who would never choose to eat at Test Kitchen, Gunbae and some as well who if they could would only eat at The Wake and Extra Virgin. I agree with you, I wouldn’t want the same cuisine every night. But others just want nothing but Italian or steak from the choices on VV.
