tiffyms02 Posted April 1, 2006 #1 Share Posted April 1, 2006 Hi everyone. I will be sailing to Cozumel in May on the Holiday and I would like to book my shore excursion. I want to do the Passion Island excursion, and the Carnival site says it's $78. However on the Passion Beach site it says it only costs $8 to enter and use the beach chairs and such. Am I missing something?? I understand that if I don't do it through Carnival I will have to get my on cab, but that is still significantly cheaper than their price. Does anyone have any info. about this? It would be greatly appreciated.
daddydude Posted April 1, 2006 #2 Share Posted April 1, 2006 You may be getting beaches mixed up. If I understand things right, Passion Island is a so-called "private island" used more or less exclusively by cruise passsengers, so you can't just take a taxi there. Maybe the Web site you looked at was for Paradise Beach, where you optionally pay $8 to use the beach toys (of course, transportation and lunch is on top of that, but your total is going to be way, way less than $78 unless you go snorkeling). Passion Island sounds awfully pricey to me, but maybe I'm missing something too.
tiffyms02 Posted April 1, 2006 Author #3 Share Posted April 1, 2006 Daddydude- Thanks for the info. Maybe it is that Passion Island and Passion Beach are two different places. Either way, I'm not crazy about spending $78 to just go to the beach. I'll probably just wait until I get there to decide for sure - unless I hear anything else.
