What's the best upgrade you got or heard of from a 4a guar?

I have heard of some great upgrades - balcony to suite blah blah, but didn't know if anyone actually got anything good on an inside cabin.

We were upgraded from 4a to 5a (obstructed OV); our two parties now have 4203 & 4207 Main Deck on the Carnival Miracle . . . we leave on 05/14!!!

We were twice upgraded from a cheap inside cabin for three to a balcony midship location. One time on RCL and one time on Carnival.

For the Victory sailing 4/16 we've been upgraded from a 4a guarantee to a 6a oceanview

On Victory 03-04-06- 4a to 4c cabin.

We were upgraded from an Oceanview guarantee to a balcony on the Miracle last August

Back in 2003, my husband and I booked a 4a guarantee on the Paradise. They changed the itinerary and ended up having to move us to the Triumph!! Great for us because they let us keep the same price and was a much nicer ship. Anyhow, we ended up getting bumped up to a 6E on the Spa Deck with the floor to ceiling window. It was an awesome upgrade!!

We were booked in a 4a guarentee on the Legend last year. We got upgraded to a 7a balcony. What a fabulous room it was.

Wow there is hope LOL. I pray they don't take into consideration how much you paid versus someone else....... We won't know for months, but it is fun to think about.

I too was booked for a IS GTY and recieved a balcony cabin...I think 8a on Legend. So you never know...

Cruise Freak........how much did they charge you to upgrade? Was the charge from the upgraded level or from where you started?

On our Mexican Riveria cruise on the Spirit in Jan '06, we had an Inside guarantee, and ended up getting upgraded to an 8d balcony! It was awesome!!!!

We booked a 4A and have been taken to a 4E... Still linside but up on the Verandah Deck. We still have nearly 6 weeks to go - is there any chance that we could change again? We can certainly be happy with the verandah deck - since we booked inside anyway. But obviously, who wouldn't love to have a view of the ocean?

Until we added a 4th passanger to our cabin we were upgraded from a 4a GTY to an ocean view on the Sensation. When we added someone to our cabin we got bumkped out of that cabin to a 4D inside. Waa! Boo hoo hoo.

Never been upgraded. I think if one wants (or hopes for) a certain cabin category, then one should book it from the get go.

We went from a 4a Guarantee to a 8a Balcony! Our cruise leaves Sunday! We are very excited! :)

What's the latest anyone has gotten upgraded. We booked a guarnatee balcony, and using the gift method it says we have a deck 7 balcony Any chance we still get upgraded?

We booked a 4a and have been upgraded to a 4e. This is our first cruise and we are very excited. The upgrade is still inside , but mid-ship on the Veranda deck. We leave on 5/14, I CAN"T WAIT!

I just got off the Valor Sunday and the couple in cabin next to us started at the lowest cabin and was upgraded 5 times to a Balcony Cabin...They were in heaven! It was their first cruise ever, I guess Carnival wanted to get them committed to sailing with them.
