jff50 Posted April 13, 2006 #1 Share Posted April 13, 2006 Embassy suites web site states "Welcome! Repairs continue on our roof tiles, pool restroom, exterior painting, and landscaping. Thanks for your patience while we recover from Hurricane Wilma and continue planned renovations." Has anyone stayed there recently? Comments on the condition of the hotel? LHC Posted April 13, 2006 #2 Share Posted April 13, 2006 1. This is a great location to stay pre cruise. 2. They do offer shuttle service to the port. 3. Full Breakfast included and a managers reception in the evening 4. Ask for one of the newly renovated rooms, the older ones are tired and in the process of refurbishing. 5. When I was there the roof still had some particle board covering. 6. The pool was open but the spa and sauna area was still being constructed. SherriZ366 Posted April 16, 2006 #3 Share Posted April 16, 2006 Stayed in January. This is actually the second time we have stayed during a renovation. There were 2 floors out of commission and during week days day the elevator was slow because it was used for the rennovated. We stayed in a room that had not been renovated and it was not the best but adequate for an overnight before a cruise. Therefore, ask for a renovated room. We got a room last minute using frequent stay points so could not really complain. The restaurant was not good -- there are a zillion other choices including Bimini Boatyard and 15th Street Fisheries but DH did not want to go outside the hotel due to a long drive. Possibly the restaurant will improve after renovation. Breakfast and happy hour were as fine as usual. hope this helps.
