steviem1 Posted April 16, 2006 #1 Share Posted April 16, 2006 We are docking in Warnemunde May 13 and want to take the train into Berlin on our own. Has anyone done this? How far is the train station from the pier? Will the station people understand English? How much is the train fare? How do we find out the schedule? We want to take the tour on the hop on/hop off bus once we get to Berlin. Where is its location in regards to the train station? Is it walkable? Would appreciate any info on the port. Thanks, Stevie
JeannyCT Posted April 16, 2006 #2 Share Posted April 16, 2006 We are docking in Warnemunde May 13 and want to take the train into Berlin on our own. Has anyone done this? How far is the train station from the pier? It's a five to ten minute walk or so, it's not far. Will the station people understand English? Yes, at least enough for you to buy a train ticket. After all, there are many foreign tourists coming in with cruise ships. How much is the train fare? How do we find out the schedule? Go to http://www.bahn.de -> Internat. Guests We want to take the tour on the hop on/hop off bus once we get to Berlin. Where is its location in regards to the train station? Is it walkable? Search this board, there have been several threads about Berlin and the hop on/hop off bus. But as I had decided to stay in Rostock and Warnemünde I haven't really read them. Information about Warnemünde and Rostock: http://www.hhog.de/en/showCity_en.php?cityID=10016 http://www.rostock.de/Internet/stadtverwaltung/default.htm http://www.warnemuende.de/Internet/stadtverwaltung/w_default.htm
