Cab cost LA airport to LA pier

We will be going on the Monarch and are tyring to decide if we should take Royal Caribbeans transfers or a cab ???

We did the weekend Monarch in March. We chose not to get the transfers since last time we did and ended driving around the airport forever picking up passengers. My husband asked for a flat rate, which took some negotiating, and settled on $50. The driver still set the meter and when we arrived, it read $59. We gave him $59 - $50 fare and $9 tip. Coming back to the airport, it was a set rate (noted on the cab stand outside the cruise terminal) of $43 or $45. Hope that helps :)
