232271 Posted April 30, 2006 #1 Share Posted April 30, 2006 This will be our first time to COZ. We are on the Conquest 11/19, a family of four 38/39 and two kids, boy 11, girl 13. We are trying to decide wether to rent a car and do the island on our own OR book an excursion? How easy is it to navigate the island? Any thoughts and advice greatly appreciated!!;)
hdawson Posted April 30, 2006 #2 Share Posted April 30, 2006 Cozumel is very easy to navigate and the roads are good and not crowded at all except in the city of San Miguel. The shoreline is beautiful and you will see much more than with an excursion. Stop at some beach clubs and have lunch somewhere like Mr Sancho's or Pancho's Backyard. cozgal Posted May 1, 2006 #3 Share Posted May 1, 2006 Rent the car and tour at your own pace...buy the Cozumel map from www.camcunmap.com It is money well spent! Have a great trip!
bruce-r Posted May 1, 2006 #4 Share Posted May 1, 2006 Exactly what cozgal said. The island is very easy to navigate. The only place where you might encounter difficulty is in town. Parking there is a challenge but not impossible. You might have to walk a few blocks, but that hasn't a problem for us in the past.

p2lockhart Posted May 2, 2006 #6 Share Posted May 2, 2006 Mapchic's map is excellent, I agree. Also, cozumelinsider.com has a list of do it yourself activities and beaches that is great.
