JayCruise Posted June 25, 2004 #1 Share Posted June 25, 2004 Hi all, thanks for your help to date. I was under the impression that the southwestern restaurant on the Star Princess was changed to a Sterling Steakhouse. Then there is Sabitini's and the main dining rooms. a. Is this correct? b. What is the dress code for the specialty restaurants? Thanks in advance to all who respond!!
HighRoller Posted June 25, 2004 #2 Share Posted June 25, 2004 Came off the Star on April 22 cruise from Venice-Rome and yes Sterling Steakhouse is now Southwest Grill and there is Sabatini's of course. I dressed very causally actually a good pair of dress pants and a nice shirt for both Sabatini's and Sterling. I did PC dinning for my entire cruise. the ship had just come out of drydock on April 10th, although for a ship that is barely 2 years old there are some places that are getting a little long in the tooth as I would say!
JayCruise Posted June 26, 2004 Author #3 Share Posted June 26, 2004 Quick point of clarification please. Does your post mean that they did change the southwest restaurant to Sterling or the other way around? If it is Sterling I guess sportcoats are not required:rolleyes: Thanks again! HighRoller Posted June 26, 2004 #4 Share Posted June 26, 2004 Yes it is now the Sterling Steak house and no sport coat required...beside if I am on vacation I don't want too have someone or a place for that matter dictate too me how to dress....If I feel like getting dressed up I will if not I will dress smart casual.

mafig Posted June 26, 2004 #6 Share Posted June 26, 2004 Re your "long in the tooth" comment. Were these areas fixed in the April 10 drydock or are they still there? What/where exactly is the Star showing wear?
HighRoller Posted June 26, 2004 #7 Share Posted June 26, 2004 Just that the carpet was torn in our mini-suite and some of teh furnishing were scratched up soo much for a ship that's only two years old. Don't get me wrong it's not falling apart or anything, just taht I was amazed for such a new ship in fact I was on it 4 months earlier in Dec/03 and it was in the same condiiton. Overall very nice ship.
mafig Posted June 26, 2004 #8 Share Posted June 26, 2004 Thanks. You would think that an easily corrected item like torn carpeting would have been replaced in dry dock. :( Sometimes it's the little things like that you remember.
