FliLady Posted May 15, 2006 #1 Share Posted May 15, 2006 Hello, I'm looking at the option of taking a later flight home after the cruise to tool around Miami for the day and wondering if there are rental cars close to port or would I be better off cabbing back to the airport to rent a car there. Any advice would be helpful
westernmom Posted May 15, 2006 #2 Share Posted May 15, 2006 We are staying over for an extra night and doing the same thing. I called quite a few agencies and found that with Dollar they will shuttle us to their lot and then we can leave the car at the airport and they were a lot cheaper than the other car rental places. Hopefully this works out for us! I will let you know in two weeks!
FliLady Posted May 15, 2006 Author #3 Share Posted May 15, 2006 Good to know. Do they shuttle you from the port to their rental lot? And then you can leave the car at the airport? That's perfect!! Thanks for the info, and please do let me know how it turns out. Have a great trip!
signman Posted May 16, 2006 #4 Share Posted May 16, 2006 Most of the car rental companies at MIA will pick you up at the port in their shuttle bus and take you to their airport rental facility. I have used Alamo several times for this. Find the company you like, and verify that they shuttle from the port.
Bequia Posted May 16, 2006 #5 Share Posted May 16, 2006 A five minute cab ride to the Avis downtown car rental facility will have you in a rental car and on your way in about the time it takes to catch a shuttle to the airport rental facilities. ;) AVIS Downtown Miami - M6I 99 Southeast 2nd Street, (at Southeast 1st Avenue), Miami, FL 33131 , U S A (1) 305-379-1317 Sun 08:00AM-04:00PM; Mon-Fri 08:00AM-06:00PM; Sat 08:00AM-04:00PM http://avis.com/AvisWeb/home/AvisHome
