fdk71265 Posted May 21, 2006 #1 Share Posted May 21, 2006 Ok we traveled Ncl twice one great cruise and one not so great. We are thinking about giving them another chance in Oct. on the Dream to the Texa-rribean. We loved the Spirit and were very let down by the Star. Any info. on the Dream would be very helpful. Food variety is a top priority, entertainment and overall service too. Excursions are not so important we always find something to do onshore. Ship rooms and layout (we prefer oceanview big window) are also high on the list and of course cleanliness. I believe in giving 3 chances so we are 1 up and 1 down with Ncl. Any replies would be helpful be it good or not. Thanks
electricron Posted May 21, 2006 #2 Share Posted May 21, 2006 What did you like about your Spirit cruise, and what did you dislike about your Star cruise? It'll help us base our suggestions if we knew what your likes and dislikes are.

fdk71265 Posted May 21, 2006 Author #4 Share Posted May 21, 2006 Service and food variety were superior on the Spirit. The room was better on the Spirit as was the overall service and staff help. The entertainment was better on the Star the excursions were equal. The cruise director on the Spirit was head and shoulders above the Star. Room service was incredible on the Spirit 10 to 15 mins tops. 3 plus hrs. on the Star twice and 2 times no call back at all so we gave up at night and just went to the 24 hr. restaurant. Just would like to know peoples experience on the dream with this services. Thanks

The Dream's entertainment will also change. The Dream will not have as many speciality restaurants as the Spirit. So you'll have less variety. How good the food tastes is subjective. The Dream's crew usually gets very high marks from passengers on service. It's hard to predict the future on things that change, like CDs and entertainers. calmac Posted May 22, 2006 #6 Share Posted May 22, 2006 The Dream has 2 main restaurants plus La Trattoria and Le Bistro. There is also a buffet in the Sports Bar but this is not a very large area and can become very crowded. We thought the entertainment on the Dream last July was better than the entertainment on the Dawn this April - it all depends on your tastes and who is onboard when you sail. One perk on the Dream is that if you have a balcony room you can order hot breakfast items via room service - looking forward to that again in July. We found the officers on board the Dream to be very friendly and much more "visible" than on the Dawn but perhaps this is just due to the size of the ship.
