sscruising Posted June 3, 2006 #1 Share Posted June 3, 2006 We are a group of 7 going on the Explorer in August & need to find a car rental agency that accepts one way rentals. My MIL has advanced Parkinson's so taking the bus or train would be very difficult for her not to mention the added expense of getting to the stations & the cost of parking for 10 days. The cost of a limo is prohibitive & so far I have had no luck locating an agency that will do one ways. Sandi
DEL67 Posted June 3, 2006 #2 Share Posted June 3, 2006 Try National or Hertz. Both usually accept one-way rentals without a drop-off fee; however, sometimes National will only do so from airport to airport.
Queenie2 Posted June 4, 2006 #3 Share Posted June 4, 2006 I've never really had a problem finding an agency that does one-ways; although depending on the supply of vehicles there *can* be a hefty drop fee. I assume (with 7 people) you will need a van. You didn't state in your original inquiry, but I'm assuming that you do not need an accessible van. I know of no agency that will do one-way accessible van rentals. They are all independently owned and they don't trade out their vehicles like standard car rental agencies do. I've always had good luck with alamo/national, but they do not have accessible vehicles. Candy
