marienbad Posted June 10, 2006 #1 Share Posted June 10, 2006 Is the HAL wine list online anywhere. Found only the gift wine list. Would be interested in any information on the Chardonnays particularly that they have available in the dining room.
dakrewser Posted June 10, 2006 #2 Share Posted June 10, 2006 The wine lists will vary somewhat from ship to ship and from sailing to sailing. But there should be some available at Cruise Clues which will give you a general idea. Most of the wines on the gift list should be available on board, though. MeOhMy Posted June 10, 2006 #3 Share Posted June 10, 2006 One of my favorite pieces of advice from a wine merchant was to buy "cheap" wine on a cruise. The high dollar stuff especially must be kept stable until use, which is simply impossible on a cruise, so you are not getting the full benefit of the wine and spending a lot of money, especially with the extra $$$ they attach. juliecat Posted June 10, 2006 #4 Share Posted June 10, 2006 The wine list on Oosterdam was extremely poor last month. Very few selections (2 pinot noirs). The Pinnacle has a much better selection.
mjmagee Posted June 10, 2006 #5 Share Posted June 10, 2006 I was also disappointed to see a pretty short list on the Zaandam on the May 26 cruise. The back page of the list contained a page of "end of bin" selections which our wine steward said were wines they just had a few of and wanted to get rid of (of course not discount offered!). The wine list in the Pinnacle Grill is a bit better, leans heavily to Northwest wines, which is fine. It also is a bit pricey. Marilyn
