RLE Posted June 11, 2006 #1 Share Posted June 11, 2006 Quick question, silly really..... What is custom when entering a restaurant in Athens? Or Venice? France has a hostess or maitre de. Germany for the most part was self seating. England pubs are order at the bar, find a table, etc. I'm asking about sidewalk cafes or casual eateries. Thanks, RLE
Rare itsanita Posted June 11, 2006 #2 Share Posted June 11, 2006 We found most were "seat yourself", especially outside. However, we always asked someone first, before we sat down.
Rare LHT28 Posted June 11, 2006 #3 Share Posted June 11, 2006 Some place in Greece also have a host /hostess ..somplaces also include the tip with the meal price so check the bottom of the menu/bill ...most Greeks don't have coffee with their meal they go to a cafe afterward for Coffee & dessert.
