Meet & Mingle Door Signs

Recommended Posts

Elaine: I would put only my screen name on the door..as a safety precaution. We all know by now we can't trust every person on a cruise! Isn't the new sign neat? Thx again Mary!

Mt. Pleasant..My folks lived there in the late 50s & my brother played football & graduated MPHS. He played against Don Meredith of Sulpher Springs [?] who went on to the pros, in case you're too young to have heard of him. Mother went to a Dr. in what I remembered as Winnsboro so I guess it was. Down the highway & turned lt. I remember crazy things! If you or your family were around in those days, we'll talk more.

Also, can't find the door sign template that I can download. ????

The door sign template is on the first page of this thread. Its an Adobe pdf file, and it's difficult (going on impossible) to edit in Adobe.

So I created a version in Word. It's located at:

www.aldewitt.com/ccdoorsign.htm

You can use the Word version without a great deal of trouble.:)

Great job, Aldewitt! Choices are always nice! :)

I am bumping this one up for the folk who don't have Word. It is a pdf (Adobe) file that I changed to be easily edited. The other links have gotten buried down there a ways.

I am still trying to get permission to use the logos and stuff and do some others for X and some other lines.:(

LOL, If you haven't heard back from anyone about using their logos, I think they are probably ignoring you. :D Too bad because you have really good computer skills!!!

I "stole" the official door sign and have adapted it so that you can put your name on right in the Adobe .pdf file and print it out. No double brinting or anything.

I have placed a copy of it on a couple of quicky web pages

http://www.geocities.com/bassnote_1 or on

http://dkinner.tripod.com/id5.html

click one or the other, these guys don't allow a lot of traffic so if you can't access it there, then just email me and I will be happy to send ya'll a copy! I am casting around for a place that will allow me to hot link the thing right to a post.

bassnote_1@yahoo.com

Thanks!!!! It worked great!

Sorry if this has already been answered, but I looked at every page of this post (and MAN it's slow loading!) and didn't see it, so here goes:

Cruises of under 7 days (I think) don't qualify for the M&M, according to the site I tried to sign up for, so...can I still put up a CC sign for a 6 day cruise?

Many times on the shorter cruises, folks who post together on the roll call boards set up their own informal M&M meeting. It's not hosted by the ship, but it serves the same purpose. Of course you don't get a chance to win the raffle drawing for the RCCL mouse! :(

So I don't see how putting up a door sign would be any different for shorter cruises, especially if others do it too!

No kidding! The site has gotten slower than my kids at chore time.:D

But, yeah, arrange your own get together. And if you let somebody know when and where you might get some snacks served, but nothing official.

And, don't be too upset if not many show up. Of the 75 signed up for our M&M only 20 or so showed up. People get busy and what not...

Put up a sign anyway!!!

Happy Crusin'

So tell me about these Meet & Mingles. Is it a formalized party or just people finding a place to meet and not necessarily sanctioned by the cruiseline? Are families invited even if the whole family doesn't post?

yes, the whole family can come. They are "informal" parties where folk from Cruise Critic (who often have met from posting on the boards) get together for snacks, beverage, and to talk. RCI will often provide some door prizes and stuff.

It was fun meeting people who you know online face to face.

Bassnote 1

Thank you for the wonderful link for the door signs. I am pretty new to these threads but I have learned so much from everyone. I am looking forward to meeting some of you on our cruise. Hopefully I will meet others of you on another cruise. Happy Sailing everyone!

Hi Bassnote_1,

I goolged on "Celebrity Connection Door Sign" and it happend direct me to your postings on this website. http://boards.cruisecritic.com/showthread.php?t=47505

Just want to say "Thank you" to you for being so smart and resourceful.

I'm leaving on 10-day Sourthern Caribbean on Galaxy on March 16th. I found out "your" sign is very helpful and just in time....

I'm thinking of posting something on our families' doors, like an arts and crafts project for the kids, but not using the cruise critic ones (I'm not a good mingler and my family members... 13 others... aren't going to go with me!). Is there something else I can use to stick on the door that won't take off the paint or leave a mark? Thanks.

We sit in circles, and raise spirits.

You know, the kind in glasses, fruity drinks, etc. :)

Laura, any chance, though my cruise comes by way of another source, that I could sit-in on the Meet and Mingle? I enjoyed the one on Navigator a couple of months ago.
