Baby pool on Mariner

Recommended Posts

We are thinking about booking a cruise with our 2.5 year old son on the Mariner. Is there a baby pool and what is it like? The Adventure Beach on the Radiance Class ships look really nice. Has anybody taken a toddler on a Radiance Class ship? How does the kid's area on a Radiance class compare to the Mariner?

I believe that the first three Voyager class ships (Voyager, Explorer, and Adventure) do have the Adventure Beach (or some form of it) with a kids pool. The Mariner and Navigator have some design differences and do not have a separate kids or toddlers pool. (There are no "baby" pools on any RCI ship, in that "baby" to me typically implies a very young child whom is not potty trained. Non-potty trained youngsters, regardless of age, are not allowed to swim in any RCI pool, kids pool or otherwise.)

We were on the Mariner in May...there is 6 inch deep area which is part of the pool but fenced off that some parents let their toddlers play in....yes it was disgusting since RCCL did NOTHING about it!! These babies were in diapers, etc and a couple parents even put long Tshirts on their kids...probably so you couldn't tell what they did or didn't have on. ANYTHING could have entered the water! The deck staff never said a word to them and they were right there!

Why have rules for everyone's safety if RCCL is not going to enforce them??

As noted, no Advt Beach kids pool on Mariner and child needs to be 3 & potty trained to check into Advt Ocean. Mariner does have a larger kids club area, especially teen area, since no pool for the younger set back of the deck at that level than what Radiance has available. Radiance has kids pool, just outside of the Advt Ocean club. Been on both, if having a pool for the your child matters may want to look at other Voyager class ships (Explorer, Voyager or Adventure) or Freedom with new water park set-up.

This subject has been addressed before on the forums and what several people said was that they take small inflatable pools and put them on their balconies. I don't know all of the particulars, but these posters seemed happy with this solution.
