DR John Posted June 25, 2006 #1 Share Posted June 25, 2006 As per Captain G-A 's web site, the Legend had to deeviate back to Rome on June 22. Does anyone know what happened?
GreatTimes Posted June 25, 2006 #2 Share Posted June 25, 2006 Several things happened. First, the scheduled marina day was cancelled due to high winds. The captain hauled up the anchor and was traveling to another spot to try and find better weather. It wasn't rough water, just too windy for the marina day. While en route to calmer waters, there was a medical emergency and the captain announced that the ship was going back to Rome where there was a hospital. Apparently there were several ill passengers on board (nothing to do with the weather) who were ill when they boarded and we heard that two passengers needed the hospital. Ergo, the deviation. Furthermore, while in port in Nice on June 23, a passenger was transferred to the hospital, so the Legend arrived in Monte Carlo on June 24 minus three ill passengers and their traveling companions. avalon1025 Posted June 27, 2006 #3 Share Posted June 27, 2006 It was sad that we had to off-load some sick passengers, but we did arrive in Rome on a busy day and got to see many other cruise ships including the QM2, Nor. Jewel, Montery and Oceanic.
