macfrodge Posted June 26, 2006 #1 Share Posted June 26, 2006 Hi all, I`m booked on a 12 day Mediterranean cruise on the Liberty in September and would like to know past passengers`experiences with the Wi-Fi on the ship. I`ve read that it`s a good signal ship-wide. I`d like to keep in touch with the kids while we`re gone, so bringing the laptop sounds like a good idea, but I don`t want to lug it halfway across the globe and find out that it`s not as good as stated.... Any info would be greatly appreciated - Thanks!
jleq Posted June 26, 2006 #2 Share Posted June 26, 2006 It's a bit faster than dial-up. Rates the same as shipboard computers.
mrdood Posted June 26, 2006 #3 Share Posted June 26, 2006 The speed is pretty slow relative to broadband, but yes, faster than dialup, at the rates they charge, not really worth it unless you have money to burn or a need to stay in touch.
StacyandTim Posted June 26, 2006 #4 Share Posted June 26, 2006 It is slow, but still faster than dial up as someone else has mentioned. Also, because it is slow, you blow through your minutes really fast.
