special diets & horizon court / room service

DH has celiac disease and cannot eat gluten. We've taken 3 Princess cruises and he hasn't gotten sick. But we mainly ate in the dining room. On the last day of the last cruise someone said that we could have eaten at Horizon Court and Princess would have taken care of his dietary needs. DH had always selected his lunch the day before. If we had been at Horizon Court would they have sent his lunch up there (this way I could try the buffet and he could still have his safe lunch). What if we had wanted room service for lunch; could I order from the standard room service menu while DH has his pre-ordered lunch sent to the cabin?

Has anyone successfully tried either of the above?
