ZULU Time

I thought that my clock had gone beserk until I noticed that all the times on these boards are now expressed in GMT, ZULU time as it's known in the military. This is like watching a JAG episode.

 

Now if I could only figure out why they changed my user name...

:) If you'd prefer to see the times expressed in something a bit more meaningful to you, like your local time, just go to the "User CP" and select "Options". There you'll have the ability to designate the time zone you'd like your display to use.

 

 

(Although ZULU time sounds strangely exotic, converting to my "real" time in my head gets a little confusing!)

You can display the time any way you want it. I have mine set up to show local time, which is CDT.

 

To set your time display option, go the your Control Panel (CP ) listed at the top of the screen and select " Edit Options". Page down to the bottom where you will see "Time Options".

 

As you explore the "Edit Options" screen, you will notice there are other things you can set up as well.

As our time difference is so great to the States I always have the time set for EST Austraila. I can see that User 8 only posted a few minutes ago which was 7.28am on Friday morning, our time!

Jascruise......thankyou SO much for that information regarding ZULU time.I have often wondered what it meant each time I saw JAG,just couldn't figure it out.Thought it might be a JAG code or some thing.LOL!:D

 

It doesn't bother me to have the times here on GMT,being as I am an ex-Brit and lived for over 30 years in that time zone so it comes as second nature to me even though I live in Canada.
