Need help with beach comparison!!

We are sailing on the Glory Aug. 12th. The beach break at Playa Mia through Carnival is sold out. We will try to go on our own and need help deciding which beach to go to. We are traveling with 2 eight year olds - one an eater and one a swimmer and a 13 year old boy. We are looking for an economical place to eat/swim/relax/get massages/drink - basically a relaxing, good time! Have looked at Paradise Beach and Playa Mia. Any suggestions or other beaches you could recommend?

You might want to see if you can book Playa Mia on your own through their website. You can get a taxi easily from the pier, the fare is about $13-15 each way

Playa San Francisco is next to Paradise beach and is very popular...taxi fare about $12-14

There is no way the Beach Break is sold out...there is no minimum or maximum with Playa Mia for that tour. The guests take a taxi on their own and receive entrance and open bar. Now, the Deluxe Beach Break is another story since they must book buses to handle the guests on that one. With the Deluxe, you get bus transportation, open bar and buffet. Like stated, you can take a taxi to Playa Mia ($12 one way) and pay the entrance or buy a package at the gate. There are no limits on how many people they will take. Check out their website for more info. http://www.playamia.com/ The differences between their 3 packages are...Basic is just entrance fee, Fiesta is the open bar and entrance fee, and the Premium is the buffet, open bar and entrance fee (you also get snorkel rental gear included). Everyone gets the same water toys, lounge chairs, pool, non-motorized toys, etc. regardless of what package they buy. No reservations are needed.

Just last week, we taxi'd (taxied? ) over to Paradise Beach. About $4 per person each way. It was GREAT fun there. Nice open air bar/restaurant, attentive wait staff who come serve you right on the beach at your chair, floating trampoline and "ice burg" (like a climbing wall in the water), wave runners to rent, massage tent. Everything you named, they've got.

I just posted a quick review on a thread asking for info on San Fransisco beach/ Paradise Beach.

Briefly we went to PB and had a great time. It was NOT crowded (we were there on Friday 7-7) Food and drinks were good and price was reasonable. Toys were a huge hit with kids ages 13, 15, 16, 17, 18, 21, 23, 15, and parents in late 40s!

Have a great time!!!!:)

We went to Paradise beach because of all the raves on this board. It was windy that day and there were no beach toys out. The food may be reasonably priced but for $6 nachos you get a plate with 7 chips with the toppings on it.

I know they can't help the weather but we were kind of dissappointed that it really wasn't as great as everyone raves.
