Yes, it's an excellent cabin, highly prized. There are about a million threads on this topic. Here - I'll get you started:

We were in 1388 (same cabin on other end of the aft) on the Navigator in June and LOVED IT. The cabin was even larger than we thought it would be, and the balcony was huge! Our only other cruise was in a hump balcony cabin on the Voyager, which we really enjoyed, but this cabin was even better, especially for the three of us. Keep it!

We are boked in cabin 1688 on mariner in 6/07. Has anyone had this cabin? If so, is this really good? We have never had a balcony room, much less an aft.:)
The cabins are identical, but are you going on the Voyager or on the Mariner?

Thanks for the reply. We are going on the Mariner in 6/07, sorry. I'm so excited. I have read some posts saying they were moved to a different cabin by RCCL. My reservation has this cabin # listed, so hopefuuly that won't happen to us.

Incredible room for a first cruise. It spoiled us for all future cruising. We're still moping that 1688/1388 still aren't available for us on our next one. Huge balcony and the room is larger than most in the category. Room is square in shape, and being on the aft you have almost a private entry with little traffic. Be ready to walk. 100 yards from the "aft" elevators (actuallly about midship). Great exercise. Watch out for the pole in the room. You'll only forget it once--and it's really not a big problem. Bonnie Voyager and others have some great pictures of this room and balcony. Enjoy.
