Help! What is in style for formal attire (female) for Rome to Istanbul 2006 Sept. 2006 on HAL ? New cruiser. How formal is formal ?

 

HAL is one of the more formal lines and the Prinsendam a very tradtional and well regarded ship. Formal will be tuxes and gowns for many of the passengers and the European itinerary is another factor as these cruises tend to be on the formal side.

For formal nights, plan on wearing a floor length gown and male partner a tuxedo.

 

This is one place you would feel out of place in a cocktail dress or pants (my parents take European cruises from time to time and mother speaks about how dressy the formal nights are).
