prarie cruiser Posted August 8, 2006 #6 Share Posted August 8, 2006 Next time you cruise, try pulling up the felt on the bottom of the safe and placing your unused coupon book in there for the next cruiser. I bet it will still be there for them!
sandc4e Posted August 8, 2006 #7 Share Posted August 8, 2006 I'd be happy to have a book also - for any spares out there. Thanks, Sheila sheilaandchris4e@yahoo.com

pamwinn Posted August 9, 2006 #10 Share Posted August 9, 2006 Next time you cruise, try pulling up the felt on the bottom of the safe and placing your unused coupon book in there for the next cruiser. I bet it will still be there for them! I always hide my unused coupons in the cabin somewhere. So far, I don't think a cruisecritic has ever found one...at least no one has said so. fti Posted August 9, 2006 #11 Share Posted August 9, 2006 I've never gotten a coupon book...where/how do you get one? Thanks in advance for the info!! I believe that it is an amenity for group bookings through a travel agent. Or when a travel agent has a cruise night and a reduced deposit, one incentive to putting down a $100 deposit that evening is that there is a coupon book waiting for you in your room when you get on board. Trifus Posted August 9, 2006 #12 Share Posted August 9, 2006 I'm sailing on Sept. 30th w/ my group totalling 4. We're all getting the coupon book along w/ Princess backpacks. Sorry, not giving the backpacks away, but willing to send whatever unused coupons left to the 1st four people who reply back to me upon our return to NYC seeing as we will be spending about 5 hrs in the airport. E-mail me at odie1658@hotmail.com. If I don't reply to you, it means you're too late...sorry. Also can't guarantee what coupons we'll have left, but hey, they'll be free. Trifus Posted August 9, 2006 #15 Share Posted August 9, 2006 What types of coupons are in the books? I'm not sure whats in this batch of booklets. But from what I recall when we had them on the Carribean were 2 for 1 drinks, casino coupons, buy 1 get one free portrait photo's, discounts in the stores. Maybe someone else can give an updated list of what's in the books this time. In the meantime, I'll find out from my TA and let you know.

T&J Posted August 9, 2006 #17 Share Posted August 9, 2006 Should of told me before...I always chuck mine away every cruise as most coupons are worthless...very few good ones you can actually use in that booklet. Tony
deubank Posted August 9, 2006 #18 Share Posted August 9, 2006 The coupon books are usually a little throw in by your Travel Agent to make you feel good about booking with them. To me, I'd much rather be "rewarded" with more tangible items. I think the coupon books don't actually cost the TA anything, they just have to request them for you. They are designed to get you to spend more money on the ship which gives Princess more profit, not the TA. Besides the above mentioned things, they also have coupons for small % off in the Spa, free frame with picture package, casino match credit (5$ I think)...things like that. It just depends on how you spend your money whether they are valuable or not. To some they are very valuable, to others not so much. By they way, just try asking your cabin steward for one. They are the ones who put them in your room anyway.
Trifus Posted August 9, 2006 #19 Share Posted August 9, 2006 Hello all, Sorry, all of my 4 coupon books that I know for sure we are getting have now been spoken for. I just learned that another 2 of my inlaws are now joining us for the cruise. And yes.......I absolutely get along great w/ them....lol If they get the coupon books as well because they're part of our group, well I'll send them to others who email me. Can't promise that they'll even get one because they booked late. I wish I would have seen this site in 2002 or even thought about giving my coupon books away when we did the back to back on the Carribean. We had a total of 12 coupon books in our group that I could have sent back then. Oh well. <p>

I think from what I recall that there were also 2 for 1 Martini's....sorry all, those'll be gone from my books...lol. 2 for 1 champagne w/ orange juie...don't think we'll use any of those. My understanding is from my TA is that they only provide these books as a incentive during select Princess sales w/ reduced deposits. I agree that they're designed to spend to have you spend more money but hey, if it can save someone a few bucks...all the better. I would be extremely surprised if your cabin steward would be able to get you one just by asking. Firstly, they are given a list identifying specifically what cabins get the coupon books and how many. I saw a list on their cart when we did our back to back. As well, they are ony given the exact amount books to place in the cabins, no extra's.

survivor Posted August 9, 2006 #23 Share Posted August 9, 2006 Is this the coupon book that is given on all cruises or are there other ones? Trifus Posted August 9, 2006 #24 Share Posted August 9, 2006 Who told you that they are only given the exact amount of books tht they need to place in the cabins? our cabin steward did when we did our back to back in 2002. And I did see the passenger list on our deck when we got to stay on board after quickly disembarking and reinbarking for the 2nd leg on the cart in the hallway. And the coupon book this time around is definitely inferior to the ones we got in '02.
