The last update identifies him as master of Infinity

 

Captain Dimitrios Kafetzis was on our recent Infinity cruise to Alaska. We were having lunch on deck and he was with a group at a nearby table. My father in law recognized him and ask that I take a photo since I was the only person at our table with a camera. He must have overheard, because he turned around and gave me a huge smile and wave. He is very personable.

There was a "Cher" on the Infinity. She wasn't a CD, but she was an Activity or Operations Manager. I don't recall her last name, but it was exotic - she was on the taped messages that ran on the TVs in the stateroom during the day. I recall she commented on her exotic name saying people often has her about her last name and it was a married name (I took it that she is no longer married). This might be Cher Zorilla. I wonder if anyone else who travelled on Infinity this summer can confirm.

Captain Terry Konstantinedes and Captain Evangelos Georgiou are no longer with Celebrity Cruises. As of Spring 2005 Captain Terry was the Captain with Thomson Cruises in the UK aboard the old RCCL Song of Norway; now called the Destiny. They both are greatly missed.

Thank you for the update about Captain Terry Konstantinedes. He was a very nice person, and very approachable. I remember his name badge said "Captain Terry" on it.

 

I would like to share a little story about him. He was walking the Pool deck with his family one afternoon. As he was greeting the passengers (nice touch), he actually walked over to me while I was sitting in a lounge chair. I said hello to him. He asked me "if there was anything I could do, to make your Cruise more enjoyable". I told him.... "You just did" :). He seemed very pleased with my answer. We had a very nice chat, and he seemed genuinely interested. He was one of the first Celebrity Captains, who was very visable around the ship. As many of us know, some of the veteran Captains are rarely seen.

 

I had always hoped to see him on another Celebrity Cruise. I agree that he will be missed. I truly wish him all the best with his Career.

Captain Papanikolaou is back on the Constellation. He is very warm and friendly and likes to mingle with the passengers.
