smk71 Posted September 5, 2006 #1 Share Posted September 5, 2006 My son will be driving down from Atlanta to leave on the Golden Dec. 23rd and leaving his car there for the week. Will the best place for his car be in the Terminal at the dock. We are all going to arrive the day before and stay in the French Quarter at the Hotel Monteleone. Has anyone stayed there:confused: . We hope it will be a great location to do some sight seeing.
ssbeagle Posted September 6, 2006 #2 Share Posted September 6, 2006 The Monteleone is one of the older hotels in New Orleans on Royal Street just off Canal Street. It's a great location for seeing the sights as you can walk most anywhere. We stayed there once years ago and it was really nice. When we go on our Golden cruise the week before Christmas we are leaving the car in the garage for the port.
zydecocruiser Posted September 13, 2006 #3 Share Posted September 13, 2006 The Moneleone is a very nice historic hotel in the French Quarter. One unique feature it has is the Carousel Bar. Has a rooftop pool. http://www.hotelmonteleone.com/ While not currently open (still rebuilding after Katrina), Mr B's is just across the street. They should be reopened before Christmas. http://www.mrbsbistro.com/index.php FYI - parking at the hotel is $27/night! By Christmas, I would think the new parking garage/cruise terminal would be open.
