laptop carry-on?

Yes and cameras. Just no liquids over 3 ounces UNLESS you bought them in the shops past security.

Electronics are fine as long as your flight starts and ends in the United States. If it goes overseas, call the airline.

Laptops are no problem with domestic flights ... you just have to take them out of any bag you might have them in and place them in their own security tray to go through the x-ray machine. You can also use the computer on the plane except during takeoff and landing, and they will specifically tell you to turn off electronic devices.
